PARENT INVOLVEMENT
Upon registering at Santisouk each parent automatically becomes a member of the Parent Association.
Parents are encouraged to get involved in school activities, for example as a guest for read aloud sessions, by participating in theme-related activities, or in the organization of field trips.
Parent Working Groups are organized every year as a way to coordinate parent led activities and events. Parents are asked to participate in two Parent General Meetings held twice per year.
Board Membership

The board is an elected committee representing all the parents, which oversees the governance of the school. Any parent can be a board member. The board meets every 6-8 weeks, with participation of the School Director. During board meetings, important concerns and policy matters are discussed and approved. The school constitution can be consulted at the administration office.
Parent General Meeting
Twice a year, a parent general meeting is held to discuss various issues, including the budget.
As members of the association, parents are expected to attend the meetings.
Communication with parents

Parent-Teacher conferences are held twice each year. They are an opportunity for parents to discuss their child’s progress with the teacher. Written reports are provided to parents at the end of each school year or earlier if the child is leaving the school.
Parent General Meetings are held twice a year. They are an opportunity for the Board and the Director to update parents with relevant information about the school and to discuss issues and opportunities.
The Casa lead teachers and the management team are always available to assist parents with any concerns or questions at drop-off or pick-up time. Casa lead teachers can be reached by email, at school or by phone.
Newsletters and curriculum updates are sent to parents at the beginning of each month to inform them of the children’s activities, school events and other important updates for that month.

Parent/teacher conferences are held twice each year. They are an opportunity for parents to discuss their child’s progress with the teacher. Written reports are provided to parents at the end of each school year or any time earlier if the child is leaving the school.
Assistance to Parents
If parents are interested in learning more about the Montessori pedagogy and philosophy, they can borrow Montessori reading materials from the school. At times, training and workshops are organized, to which parents are invited.
